Although starting on the Isle of Wight, the aim of the Communitree Project is to bring together charities, trusts, volunteers, and green suppliers to become the largest directory for green initiatives and local community projects in the UK.
Currently, many small charities and trusts struggle to get their voices heard. The Communitree Project wants to bring all of these initiatives together into a single hub that will give them a more powerful presence than any of them would be able to achieve on their own.
It would also let:
The Communitree Project makes things happen by bringing like minded people together!
For example, you may have a local project that needs volunteers, support and advice or funding. You may be wondering where to find a local supplier who can provide you with environment-friendly heating. Alternatively, you may be a business manager keen to support projects as part of your corporate social responsibility programme.
The Communitree Project will become a national resource – bringing topical, relevant information together in one place, including the latest sources of funding and how to access them, green events, and up to date green news.
Tell us who you are and what you’re doing, and what your
interests are.
We’re developing a series of directories that will list …
Charities, Trusts, Projects, Green Suppliers, Volunteers, Sponsors and more.
You will be able to submit your details to get a listing in one or more of these directories, and search through them for the contacts and any other resources you need to make your contribution.
The Communitree Project will bring together schemes needing volunteers, equipment or financial help with communities and companies that have the ability to provide that support.
It will also provide a listing of green suppliers that will enable people to find their nearest supplier of environment friendly products and allow customers to comment on the services they’ve received, which means we will be able to rank suppliers in terms of the feedback received.
If you run a green organisation, sign up and link to our site
from yours.
Each organisation that does sign up will be invited to complete a form that will then auto-populate a directory entry/ microsite on the Communitree site, which will enable users to search for them on the basis of location and/or their areas of specialism.
We will soon be launching a new newsletter, full of useful information and the latest environmental news, so look out for that and make sure you sign up to receive it.
